Having your wedding at The Retreat at Hiawassee River will make it seem like you have your weddings at a destination location. Surround by a lushly green forest environment, which will do an amazing job holding off the hush sun lights when doing portrait sessions.

Amy & Justin didn’t care too much for the photos except for family photos, which is understandable. They wanted to enjoy the wedding day and thus not worry too much about capturing a traditional wedding portrait. And to be honest, I enjoyed that. I had zero stress for this wedding and just focused on capturing the day.

Krista & Michael Wedding

Krista & Michael were fantastic couples to work with despite being a bit older than expected. They were very down to earth and easy-going. Krista even had some cool ideas regarding photographing her wedding that bought back old memories. 🙂

Working with Krista, I knew what my role was, and it was to keep an eye on the groom. Michael was easy to use. He didn’t have any groomsmen, so it was easy to cover just one person. Since he was older, I didn’t make him pose too much. But instead, I just followed him around and took shots.

Hiwassee river retreat is located just a bit north of Atlanta, GA. I honestly had no idea a wedding venue like this even existed up. I don’t usually travel this up in the mountains, but glad I had the opportunity to shoot this wedding. Any weddings at Hiwassee River Retreat will be just fantastic thou.

I always like being creative, so I took their family picture in a non-traditional way. Spread them out, and it will look fabulous no matter how you position them! This is a signature style of mine, so I hope you enjoy the shot. 🙂

As I was covering Michael in the morning, he mentions that he would be doing something special for Krista during the reception.

Michael was going to sing her a song, and I knew right there that I had to make sure I got that covered. There is even a cool shot of someone using their cell phone while Michael was singing!
