Can you still get married during this covid-19 pandemic?
Right off the bat, you might be thinking are you crazy to even suggest this? Am, I? I know alot of young couples are still thinking about having a wedding. I should know, I just did a small backyard wedding a few weeks ago.
This post will be very similar to the 6 reason why you should elope right now, however we will focus on non-elopement weddings. And I will try to avoid anything I already talked about in the other post.
1. Backyard, Front yard, Small Wedding – Keep it small
Why postpone the wedding day when you can keep social distance in place and have people wear face mask for the safety of the guest and vendors. The entire world already knows what is going on with covid-19 and it now seems that wearing a face mask is a common thing. Everyone is wearing one and everyone is keeping social distancing while still trying to live. With a small wedding this can be easily done.
2. You will save money
With some wedding vendors being closed all you really need are photographers and an officiant to tie the knot. You can even do without a photographer in this case and just have the officiant and some close family members there to help celebrate the day with you.
3. More time with photos
I have covered many weddings in the past, and one thing I always don’t have time or loose time is when we are photographing the couples during portrait session. With a smaller wedding, you have plenty of time to grab some amazing photos without being rushed to the next event.
4. Stressfree – Actually Enjoy your wedding Day!
It can be alot of stress doing a normal wedding. Where you got to be ready on time so you will not miss the limo driver, being on time for ceremony, being on time for reception while also getting all the pictures taken care of in between those events. In a small wedding, well that’s more laid back and you might actually end up enjoying your wedding day!
5. Make History
I don’t know how many pandemics you lived through, but I doubt it will get this crazy again for the next few years or even decades. The last one that we had was the Spanish Flu and that was long long time ago in 1918!. Image having pictures taken during this pandemic, and showing this to your future kids, friends and family. You can even get creative here and put the mask on for some epic wedding photos.
Bonus – Have a reception after the pandemic is over
We don’t know how long this pandemic will last, but when it’s safe to gather and become normal pre 2020 it will be alot easier and cheaper to just have a reception to help celebrate your wedding day. By that time, you should have your wedding photos as well, which you can show case off your photos at the reception.
Truth is, that you can still get married during covid 19, as long as social distance is kept in place.
